Class 08 exhauster speed up resistor

Postby MidlandsDave » 17 May 2018 08:50

Apologies for asking a question as my first post.

I’m trying to re-commission the exhauster on a dual braked 90v 08 that was converted to radio remote control. The contactors for it had been removed but the wiring still existed to the terminals. I have fitted contactors and wired everything up. When testing the exhauster it runs but does not speed up when I press the lever down on the brake handle (this does operate contactor XC1 ok). I have tested between XC1 and EAA expecting to measure a resistance but I get open circuit. I can’t find where this resistor is physically located - can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks.

Are you still looking?

I have an old schematic which shows a resistance coil between XC1 and EAA on the main resistance frame, top row, second coil from the left.
So the same frame that has the main generator resistance coils etc.
