LMS 10000

Postby PROJECTWODEN » 30 Jun 2011 10:29

A small group of individuals including experts from the railway locomotive business are looking into the feasibility of a 'recreation' Please try not to vent too much froth on this as it will be looked into properly. It may use the frame of another loco, with original Fox's bogies and a Mark 1 16SVT. Sure some people will love this idea, others won't, but for many enthusiasts should be an interesting (expensive) project, should it come to pass.
Anyone interested in joining such a group or want to offer expertise in any area, please message me.
Dave Kew.

Well just so as you know there is a pair of spare EM2 bogies at the MRB these are more or less the same design and pattern as the bogies fitted to 10000-10001 abaite with the Metrovic traction motors instead of English Electric ones, they would be an ideal basis for recreating a replica 10000, but would need significant modifications, also while I'm on the subject, the cab and body design was broadly similar to that of a Peak, and 45015 is still languishing at Shakerstone on the Battlefield line, if its for the chop then I'm sure it could donate some body parts to a 10000 repro, justa thought ;)

We are having a small group meeting at the KOYLI gala NYMR, 17th September. If anyone is keen on been an active participant please pm/email me.
This should be a marvellously exciting build/project for those involved, more memebers/skills needed!

Things are happening. Check http://www.lms10000.org/ if you haven't yet. A seriously competent pair of mechanical and electrical engineers are studying this before a loud start...
