37079 has been purchased from HNRC for preservation. The loco will leave Barrow Hill next month after a bogie swap. 37418 has been secured for preservation and a restoration base will be announced once details have been finalised. The loco is currently stored at Toton. Photo and details are here
The owners of Nene Valley Railway based 56003 have concluded a deal to sell the loco to Hanson Traction and once remedial work has taken place at Wansford the loco will move to the RVEL workshops in Derby for completion of mainline re-certification.
37003 has arrived at the NRM Shildon site from the Weardale Railway.

37003 is to leave the Weardale Railway and will move to the National Railway Museum site at Shildon for an extended visit. The 37 has seen little use at the Weardale Railway since its move to the line in July last year.
25067, now in BR green livery, has entered service on the Weardale Railway working Santa Specials with 73134. A photo is here
North Norfolk Railway based 25057 has had its train heating boiler re-certified for use as part of its overhaul at Weybourne. The 'Rat' has also undergone a top end engine overhaul. A photo is here

The Severn Valley Railway will be holding its 2008 Diesel Event on April 24-26, a departure from the usual Autumn date. All trains on the Thursday and Friday will be diesel hauled.

37109 has been started up successully at Bury and also undertook short test runs along the Quatermile siding.
47773 will work in top & tail mode with preserved Class 86 E3137 on March 1st with a Birmingham - Liverpool railtour. More details are here

20227 has returned to the London Underground at West Ruislip depot for further use on test runs with the LUL 4-TC set and Sarah Siddons.
The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway will be opening its new extension to Iridgehay on March 8th increasing the line to 4 miles in length.

73210 is to be based at the Mid Norfolk Railway. The former Gatwick Express ED has been undergoing restoration at Stewarts Lane and is expected to arrive in Dereham in the Spring.
50049 worked an ECS from Stewarts Lane - Southall on Monday before returning to Old Oak. The 50 also worked an ECS on the 30th from Stewarts Lane to Ferme Park.

Barrow Hill are operating a diesel running day on December 15th. Trains will run from 1300 - 1630 with 20096 and 20121 working until approx 1445 when they will be swapped for 33021 & 33111. After dark there will be a line-up of blue locos for photography. Price for travelling on the trains is £4 adult £2 child and family tickets for up to 2 adults and three children are £10.
Devon Diesels 37037 is to visit the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their diesel event next June. The 37 will appear in BR green as D6737.

25067 has left Barrow Hill and moved to the Weardale Railway where it will work the lines Santa Special trains.
50015 has returned to use at the ELR powering an engineers train on the 29th. A photo is here. The 50 will be employed on the ELR Santa Specials later this month.

The planned railtour with D1015 on December 22nd has been cancelled as the loco needs tyre turning and a slot for the work to be done at Laira cannot be guaranteed in time to see the loco work the tour.
50049 collected 37308 from Toton on Monday and hauled it south to Old Oak Common where the loco will be returned to working order.
A number of locos on the road this week; 37109 has left Hither Green and is on its way to the East Lancashire Railway, former Eurostar ED 73118 left Temple Mills yesterday and has been transported to the Barry Island Railway. 33053 has left the Battlefield Line to take up residence at the Northampton & Lamport Railway - a photo is here
25067 is undergoing repairs at Barrow Hill and once complete the loco will move to the Weardale Railway. The vacuum only 'Rat' is also undergoing work to reinstate the steam heating boiler and it is expected to be employed on the lines Santa Specials
33109 is having the cooler group rebuilt at Bury, The loco has also received a new set of batteries and it is hoped to have the Crompton back in traffic early in the new year. A photo is here

D1015 worked another engineers train on the 22nd this time leaving Eastleigh at the head of 6V52 1100 Eastleigh - Westbury which conveyed a class 47 and various track machines. D1015 was then forwarded dead in tow to Tavistock Junction in the consist of 6Y52 to allow it to visit Laira TMD for tyre turning.
Former EPS ED 73118 which is now privately owned will move to the Barry Island Railway sometime next week. The loco is operational and will be available for use by the railway.
73119 which has been exiled at the Keith & Dufftown Railway is expected to move south to Fairwater Yard in Taunton early in the new year.
A1A locotomotives are running a charter with 31162 at the North Norfolk Railway on January 5th which will be the last time the loco steam heats a train for a while as the boiler ticket expires shortly afterwards. The charter consists of 10 rounds trips for a very reasonable £7 - all proceeds going towards the restoration of 31418. More details are here

The Peak Locomotive Company have acquired 45108 from its current owner and plan to move the loco to the Midland Railway - Butterley for restoration, which will begin once work on 44004 is completed. The transaction is the result of negotiations over the last two years and gives the Peak Locomotive Company ownership of each class and sub class of peak locomotives. Arrangements are currently being made to transfer the loco from Crewe South carriage shed to Crewe Heritage Centre to allow road access.
The running day with 47716 at the Dartmoor Railway planned for the 25th November has been postponed as 47716 is not available for traffic. It is intended to arrange a running date in the future.

37308 has been purchased from scrapdealer EMR for preservation. The loco will leave Toton in the near future and move to an unspecified location for restoration.

The East Lancs Railway have confirmed that 37109, recently purchased from EWS by a member of the Bury Diesel Group, will be based at the line and is expected to arrive in the next few weeks. The 37 is mostly complete and it is not expected to take long to have the loco in an operational condition.
D1015 will work a Ealing to Holyhead railtour on 16th February. More details are here

Embsay based D9513 has been started for the first time in ten years. It is hoped to have the loco appearing at the lines diesel events for next year.
The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway traditional Christmas diesel event will be held on December 27th this year with 20137 24081 37215 37324, 47105 and 73129 in action. The event will feature Toddington - Winchcombe brakevan rides and well as the usual two train service to Cheltenham.

D1015 has today worked a Reading West Jnc to Eastleigh engineers train. Photos are here and here
50049 left the NYMR today hauling 40122, 55009 and 55019. The 40 was dropped at the NRM and both DPS Deltics returned to Barrow Hill before 50049 continued onto Old Oak Common.
50026 has undergone work to install the tracion motor cabling at the RVEL workshops in Derby. Photos here here and here
The Swanage Railway are holding a 1960's event on November 24/25. 33012 will share duties with steam on the Saturday while 47635 will get its turn on Sunday. More details are here

D1015 will run light engine from Old Oak to Reading tomorrow and haul a track machine to Eastleigh. The loco is also expected to work a trip out of Marchwood on Thursday.
The Brush Type 4 Funds 47746 was delivered to Long Marston from Crewe on Saturday where work will begin to return the loco to operational condition.
D1010's 'B' engine was lifted out of the loco at Williton on Saturday. The engine will be fitted with a complete set of new liners and pistons due to the amount of corrosion found in the cylinder bores. Photos here and here

BRE Limited have agreed to sell Dartmoor Railway based 37198 and 37905 to the Midlands scrapdealer EMR. It is possible that both locos will attract sufficient interest from other parties and remain in preservation. Meanwhile BRE have announced that they have secured 37403 from the latest EWS tender list. From the same list, 37109 has also been purchased for preservation.

Class 15 D8233 underwent an engine change at Bury last weekend with a replacement Paxman engine lifted into the loco replacing the stripped engine that will now be used for spares. Photos here and here and full reports of the work carried out can be found on the C15PS website

50049 has today run light from the Severn Valley Railway to Grosmont to take part in the NYMR ' Valley Aid' Event.
25262 is due to arrive back at the South Devon Railway tomorrow after a summer loan spell at the Spa Valley Railway. The loco will be taking part in the Gronk Aid 4 Event this weekend.

Vintage Trains based 47773 underwent a test run today from Tyseley to Oxford and back with 47245 as insurance. No problems were encountered and the loco is now expected to work the diesel hauled sections of the VT Lakes Explorer railtour on October 13th.

33109 has left the Railway Age at Crewe and moved to its new home at the East Lancashire Railway where work will continue to return the loco to traffic.
ELR based 50015 was started for the first time since its change of ownership yesterday and after initial testing the loco successfully took power. There is still plenty of work to do, including an overhaul of all brake cylinders and it is hoped to have the loco back in traffic in time for the second half of the Santa Specials season.

33109 has moved over from Crewe LNWR depot to the Heritage Centre in readiness for road movement onward to the East Lancs Railway.
Dean Forest based 31466 underwent its first loaded test run yesterday hauling five mark 1's and E6001 without problems. The loco will now enter traffic at the DFR.
37518 also had a successful loaded test run yesterday making two trips to Peterborough with the mark 1 set. A photo is here

55022 has today run light from Bo'ness to Old Oak Common in readiness for working the Autumn Highlander railtour on Friday. As part of the move 55022 collected 50044 from Crewe LNWR and took it to Tyseley where further work will take place to return 'Exeter' to the mainline.
Repairs have begun on collision damaged 33108 at Barrow Hill. The loco suffered cab front damage in a shunting accident at Swanage last year. Photos here and here

25309 has today moved from Bo'ness to the West Coast Railway workshops at Carnforth where the work to return the loco to traffic will be completed. The Waterman owned 25 has had a overhauled generator installed during its stay at Bo'ness.

55022 hauled 20020, 26020 and 37175 to Bo'ness today picking 40145 up from Carnforth. 40145 will now work tomorrows SRPS trip to Inverness.
The Dean Forest Railway Diesel Day on September 29th has had to be cancelled because of emergency engineering work taking place on the line. E6001 will however work top & tail with a steam engine on September 26 between Norchard and Parkend. It is hoped to stage the diesel event during November. More details available nearer the date.

55022 ran light from Barrow Hill to Bury today running on the newly installed engine throughout with no problems coming to light. A photo is here. The Deltic will haul 20020,26010 and 37175 northwards to Bo'ness tomorrow collecting 40145 from Carnforth along the way.

31188 is being returned to service at the Wensleydale Railway with the loco being started recently - the first time since 2001. New batteries have also been installed and work is now concentrating on ironing out problems with the locos air systems.
73110 has recently moved to Long Marston from its previous home at the Churnet Valley Railway

47770 has been started for the first time at Tyseley. The former WR celebrity 47500 also took power with no major problems coming to light.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway are holding a Mixed Traffic Event on November 3/4 with all proceeds going towards to the Severn Valley flood appeal. Diesels in action will be residents 25278, 50027 plus D6700, D9009 and 55019. 50049 will also attend and will work trains on the Esk Valley Branch.

55022 has, after further adjustments to the number two engine, reached the required power output during load banking at Barrow Hill and will now work the Autumn Highlander out of Kings Cross on October 5th. However the loco will not be able to work the planned SRPS tour to Oban due to gauging restrictions.
D1015 will work a private charter from Salisbury to Kidderminster and then back to London Victoria tomorrow. Times are here
31465 has left the Dartmoor Railway for the RVEL workshops in Derby where it is expected to return to the mainline for Network Rail.
The Dartmoor Railway Diesel Event will now take place on October 20/21 and is expected to feature an array of motive power as well as two charters onto the mainline; the first being a Okehampton - Exeter and return with T&T 31's on Saturday morning and then in the evening it is planned to use 45112 and a 33+31 combo on a tour to Paignton and back. The Class Forty Preservation Society have launched a shed appeal to ensure the long term future of 40135 and 40145. The society intends to raise money for two places within a new diesel shed to be built at Bury on the East Lancashire Railway. More details are here
50008 is continuing to undergo work to return the loco to service at LNWR Crewe, the generator which was sent away for repair earlier this year awaits refitting. Photos here here and here
Brush Type Four Fund owned 47746 is expected to be transferred from Crewe DMD to Crewe Electric Depot tomorrow, this will allow for arrangements to be made for the locos onward movement to Long Marston where the loco will be returned to working order

The purchase of 50015 from the Manchester Class 50 Group to members of the Bury Diesel Group has been completed. The loco is now in the ownership of the “Bury Valiant Group” and work will start soon to return the loco to running order – target date is before the end of 2007. 37340 (37009) has undergone a bogie swap at Ruddington with set of fully overhauled CP7 bogies now under the loco. Bodywork restoration is is being carried out, with original features being re-created and additional features being removed as applicable. Also the bodywork is being stripped back to bare metal so that a full appraisal of the condition of the body can be made. In the next few weeks contractors will be addressing the worst of the corrosion. Photos are here here and here

The Llangollen Railway Diesel Event on October 5-7 will see 27056 as the visiting traction. It will make a short visit prior to returning to the Northampton & Lamport Railway after its summer stay at the Great Central Railway.
An agreement has been reached for 37175 to become resident at the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. The 37 will move north from the ELR shortly and will feature at the BKR Diesel Event on September 29/30.
The SBRS have arranged for a tour of the Long Marston Railway site on October 13. More details are here

55022 has been withdrawn from all planned railtours because of continuing problems with the No.2 engine that will require its removal from the loco for stripping. More details are here
The Dartmoor Diesel Event will now be held on October 13th and 14th. The organisers would like to apologise for the late notice of this change but has been unavoidable due to operational reasons.
37518 is being returned to working order with all missing wiring replaced and brake systems now in working order. The loco will be taking part in the Nene Valley Diesel Event on October 5-7. More details are here

Following the success of this years beer festival/diesel event the Swanage Railway are pleased to announce that they will be running the same event over the weekend of Friday 9th to Sun 11th May 2008. It is hoped that at least 3 visiting locos will run alongside the resident D8188,D6515 and 33108 for the weekend.

A month after its successful start up 31206 made its first movements at Rushden over the weekend. The Goyle has seen work concentrate on repairing the auxiliary generator. The loco will be on display at the forthcoming model railway exhibition at the station site. More details are here
A working party was held for 50050 at Yeovil over the weekend with much time spent tracing the loco long standing power fault. The loco was also started for the first time this year. A photo is here and more details are here
The Churnet Valley Railway are holding a Railcar Event on September 29-30 featuring visiting DMU M79900 "Iris" as well as diesel loco running on the 30th. More details are here

55022 has been withdrawn from its planned railtours on Septemer 8th and 16th due to continuing technical problems with the ex-marine Deltic engine installed earlier this year. This despite the best efforts of the small team working on the loco. The Devonian on September 8th will now be worked by 40145.
50049 left Tyseley yesterday and ran light to Kidderminster. The loco is booked to appear in a revised SVR diesel event on October 12 & 13 and will work trains between Kidderminster and Bewdley alongside 20188 20227 37906 73101 plus shunters D3022, D3937, 12099. Warship D821 may appear if repairs are completed. More details are here
24081 has moved to the Barry Island Railway for a short visit
20001 and 20189 have returned to Butterley after appearing at the Barrow Hill Class 20 event earlier this year.

Ruddington based 25279 is due to move to the Foxfield Railway at the end of this month for a short visit that will allow the 'Rat' to feature at the lines Diesel Event on 15/16 September which will also see numerous industrial diesels in use plus runs on Foxfield Bank with coal wagons on both dates. There will be evening Real Ale Trains on the Saturday. More details are here. The 25 will also be in operation on normal running dates on 22/9, 29/9, 6/10 & 13/10 before returning to the GCRN in mid October.
24081 has had its cooler group repairs completed at Toddington and will move to the Barry Island Railway tomorrow where it will feature in their Diesel Event. The 24's rostered turns at the GWR this week will be covered by 47105.
The Battlefield Line are holding their Autumn Diesel Event on 14-16 September and will feature all of the lines operational fleet. More details and loco rosters are here

The GCRN are holding a Bank Holiday Event on August 26/27 featuring plenty of diesel running - a timetable and a loco roster is here
The Growler group are planning a 'farewell' running day for 37219 over the weekend of 6 & 7 October before it returns to the Chacewater Railway. It is planned for the 37 to work three round trips of the line on both days.
The Bodmin & Wenford Diesel Gala takes place on September 22 and 23. There will be an intensive service on both days, hauled by residents 37142, 50042 and the gala debut of 47306. In addition to the normal coaching stock rake, a passenger carrying clay train will again run on Saturday afternoon with a photo stop en-route. The DPS are celebrating 25 years of Deltics in preservation on August 18th by re-enacting the events of August 21st 1982, when the first Deltic hauled workings took place in preservation. Both locos will be in action on the NYMR diesel diagram. More details are here

37505 has entered preservation at the Eden Valley Railway having previously been located in Thompsons scrapyard in Stockton.

The South Devon Railway will be hosting a Real Ale Festival over the August Bank Holiday and the profits will go towards the restoration of 50002. The railway will be operating diesel hauled trains to coincide with the festival. More details and loco rosters are here

73134 left Tyseley yesterday and has moved to the Weardale Railway where it will take up residence. The ED had previously been in store at Meldon and was at Tyseley for tyre turning.
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway are holding a Beer and Music festival that will take place on 26th, 27th & 28th October. 25059 will be rostered to haul trains all day on Friday 28th - from approx 1000 to midnight. On Saturday 29th 25059 or 20031 will haul the early morning services. 25059 will then operate again from approx 1800 till midnight. On Sunday the early morning services only will be diesel loco hauled. More details will be here in due course.

Timetables and loco rosters for the Barry Island Railway diesel event later this month are now available, along with more details here
31206 has been started at Rushden, this is the first start-up since it had the engine overhauled at Brush around seven years ago. Work will now concentrate on repairing the faulty auxilary generator.
47292 has made its first movements under its own power in preservation, making short test runs around the yard at Ruddington. No problems of note were discovered.

D1015 is scheduled to work the southbound leg of Pathfinders Cumbrian Mountain Express steam railtour on Saturday from Preston to Swindon. This will facilitate the locos return to Old Oak after the tour planned for last Saturday was cancelled. More details are here

47785 has been delivered to the Stainmore Railway site at Kirkby Stephen East Station and becomes the fifth mainline diesel based there. Photos and details are here
31466 undertook its first run in preservation last Thursday when the loco worked two test runs on the Dean Forest Railway hauling E6001 for insurance. A photo is here
The Severn Valley Railway has decided to cancel the planned diesel event in October as it is unlikely the railway will be fully re-opened after the infrastructure was badly damaged during heavy rain and floods last month.

40145 was unveiled in its new Large Logo livery yesterday and as part of the East Lancs 20 year celebrations the loco was named "East Lancashire Railway" using the plates previously carried by an EWS class 37. Photos here here here and here

33053 and 33008 had their generators lifted out last week and 33053 was fitted with an overhauled example (see update 19/7). It should be back in traffic in the next couple of weeks. 33008 will be fitted with 33053's old generator once it has been overhauled.

47306 worked its first passenger train in preservation on Saturday when it worked the Bodmin & Wenford Railway diesel diagram - photos here and here
73114 has returned to the Battlefield Line after its spell deputising for a Class 14 on the CTRL construction work in London.
31466 was fired up for the first time in preservation today at the Dean Forest Railway. The 31 is still undergoing tests before it can enter traffic.
47292 has been started for the first time at Ruddington and no major problems came to light - a photo is here. The loco is expected to enter traffic at the GCRN at the August Bank Holiday weekend with further appearances at the October Diesel Gala.
Only recently arrived at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, 37216 was also started over the weekend. A photo is here. It is hoped to have the loco in action at the railways Diesel Event on 28/29 July. A timetable for the event is here

37216 has today completed its transfer from EMR Kingsbury to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway.
20227 has joined 20188 and 73101 at the Severn Valley Railway for use on engineering trains repairing flood damaged sections of the railway.
20020 and 20087 returned to the East Lancs today behind a pair of HNRC 20's.
73119 which has seen little use since it was sold to the Keith & Dufftown Railway in 2004 has been sold on and will be returning south to a new home.
The Spa Valley Railway will be holding their annual diesel event on August 3-5. The three day event will see 25262, 33065, 73140 as well as DEMU 1317 in action. A timetable and loco roster is here. There is engineering work between Tonbridge & Wadhurst (via Tunbridge Wells) on Saturday & Sunday and visitors arriving by rail are encouraged to travel via the Uckfield line and alight at Eridge for our own bus service.

73101 was delivered to the Severn Valley Railway yesterday and 20188 has left Swanage and will join it. Both locos will be employed on works trains repairing the storm damaged line. Another class 20 is also expected to move to the SVR for similar duties.
45112 will not be working the Heartland Railtour from Gloucester to Penzance this Saturday.

25278 worked the first 25 hauled passenger train on Network Rail/BR since 1991 on Saturday evening when it was employed on the NYMR's Whitby service. Photos here and here

37216 has been purchased for preservation from the EMR scrapyard in Kingsbury and will move to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway some time next week. The railway are hopeful the loco will be returned to operation in time for the lines Diesel Event on July 28/29.
25278 is due to make its passenger debut on the Whitby Line later today being rostered to work the 1650 Grosmont - Whitby and the 2030 Battersby - Whitby in top & tail formation with a steam engine.
73101 is to leave the Avon Valley Railway for a short term loan to the Severn Valley Railway to assist with the loco shortage on the flood damaged line. The ED will return to Bitton in the autumn.
SECO Rail have hired 47635 for traction training and train handling tuition on the Swanage Railway. The next planned day of running is Tuesday 17th July. There are no firm start and finish times, but the first one is likely to be 1135 ex Swanage. The two coach train is not available for passenger use.

20020, 20087 and 55022 moved from Bury to Barrow Hill in a convoy hauled by 20901 & 20905 yesterday. The 20's will take part in the weekends Diesel Event - full operating details for the event can be found on the PLEG website. 55022 has returned to BH where work will continue to get the new power unit up and running.
A couple of changes to the loco listings on the site; 37211 has left the Churnet Valley Railway and moved to Kingsbury for scrap having donated parts towards the restoration of 37009 whilst 37214 has moved to the 'Ex Preserved' section as the loco has now passed into the ownership of West Coast Railways, it was previously privately leased to the company. Riveria Trains' 47575 is deleted from the site after it left the East Lancs Railway last week and moved to Crewe.

24081 is booked to be the visiting engine for the Barry Island Railway Diesel Event on August 25-27. More details are here. Meanwhile 20228 has left Barry and moved by road to Barrow Hill where it will take part in the roundhouses Class 20 Event this weekend.

Spitfire Railtours planned use of 55022 on a railtour this Saturday has been postponed to a provisional date of 17 November as the loco is still undergoing remedial work on its replacement power unit. RSG did attend the East Lancs event at the weekend but worked on one engine only.
50049 ran light yesterday from Tyseley to Cardiff Canton where it will be used to shunt rolling stock for Pullman Rail.

South Devon Railway based 25262 is to visit the Spa Valley Railway for a summer stay and will participate in the lines Diesel Event on August 3-5 alongside resident locos 33065 and 73140. The 25 is due to arrive early next week.
The Barry Island Railway are holding a diesel running day on Sunday July 8th featuring D9521 and 47768. The two locos will operate brakevan rides and also haul the mk 1 vacuum rake throughout the day. First departure from Barry Island is at 1100hrs and the last departure is at 1622hrs. Day rover tickets will be £6.
20132 is unable to attend the East Lancs Diesel event and a revised timetable to reflect this is here

The class 37 running day at the Dartmoor Railway due to feature 37198 and 37905 tomorrow has been postponed to later in the year due to ongoing work to get 37905 into an operational condition. The next diesel running day at the Dartmoor Railway will be as planned on July 14th featuring 73117.
The East Lancs Railway are celebrating the railways 20th anniversary over five days from July 25-29 and plans are well formulated for this event with the timetable due out shortly. There will be a substantial amount of diesel running with D832 and 40145 taking the roles they did 20 years ago. D5054 and 40145 will be named as part of the celebrations. Although this is classed as a 'special event' normal fares will apply and £11 for a day rover will be excellent value. Members free tickets and all concessions also available.

20048 has ended its long stay at the Great Central Railway and has moved over the Midland Mainline to its new home at Ruddington on the GCRN. The loco was originally based here prior to leaving for contract work on the CTRL construction in 2002.
Battlefield based 33053 is to receive a replacement main generator at Shackerstone in the coming weeks with a view to the Crompton re-entering traffic towards the end of July. Other work on the loco has included replacing all the internal gutter system and repairs to bodywork and floors. The cabs have also been smartened up.

Tyseley based 37264 was started yesterday evening after six years restoration work. The engine was run for a time to allow checking of mechanical systems which appear to be in good condition despite not having run since 1999 - overhauled turbos, intercoolers, generator and water pumps form part of the rework. Work will now focus on recomissioning electrical and auxiliary systems, which will pave the way to reinstallation and testing of brake components. Major bodywork replating has been progressing and a repaint into large logo '1984' style will then be carried out. Video of the start up is here
The infrastructure of the Severn Valley Railway was seriously damaged during storms in the area last week which will curtail the lines operations for quite some time. An appeal has been started to help pay for the repairs. Details are here

40145 and D1015 have today both run light to Bury from Bo'ness and Bescot respectivley. D1015 will be taking part in next weeks diesel event

33108 has left the Swanage Railway and is being transported by road to Barrow Hill for repairs to damage sustained in a shunting accident last year.
55022 is unable to take part in the SRPS 'Far North to Thurso' railtour this weekend as it is still undergoing power unit repairs at Barrow Hill. Its place will be taken by WCRC 57601. It is intended to allow 40145 to work as much as possible on the tour.
A slight change to the ELR July Event line-up will see 20132 substitute for the unavailable 20906. It is also planned to have two of HNRC's mainline registered 20's at the event. D5054 and 40145 will not feature during the five days as both will be out of service for repaints in connection with the ELR 20th Anniversary event on July 25-29.

The Dartmoor Railway are holding a 'Homefleet Day' this Saturday (23rd) and will see 08937 37198 47716 and 73117 in action and could also feature 31465 and 37905. A timetable and loco roster is here. The 31 is leaving the line next week and if repaired will make its last run this Saturday. Replacement control cards have been sourced for 37905, these are en-route to Devon to be fitted and subject to testing the loco will take part. The C37LG are still looking for donations to aid the purchase of the cards - details here

NYMR based 25278 completed a mainline test run to Whitby on Saturday. The 25 is now fitted with the required safety equipment and passed to run on the Battersby - Whitby section only. The loco will be the standby diesel for the NYMR's Whitby Excursion train, although it is expected that the 25 will be rostered regularly on the Whitby line.
DRS's 47237 hauled KWVR visitors 20020, 26010 26024 and 37175 from Keighley to Bury where the preserved engines will feature in the ELR summer event next month.
47270 worked its first passenger train on the Nene Valley Railway on Sunday when it worked a round trip from Wansford with 31271 providing the vacuum brakes - thanks are due to the A1A Group for making this possible. A photo is here

The East Lancs Railway are holding a 'Little Locos Weekend' on July 21/22 which will feature all the shunters and smaller steam locos at the ELR. All services over the weekend will be operated by diesel shunters and small steam locos. The line up currently includes the resident fleet of D2062, D3232, 08445, 08479, 08944, 'Jinty' 47324, Peckett 0-4-0 1370 with visitors 08700, 07001, Hudswell Clarke '70' ex MSC and 3440 'City of Truro. 20020, 26010 and 26024 have arrived at Keighley to take part in this weekends Diesel Event, haulage provided by DRS's 47237 which will also appear.
40012 has received a new set of batteries at Butterley. The loco has suffered from flat batteries and failed to work at recent events but will now star at the CFA gala on June 23/24. Photos here and here

26010 has had its overhauled generator installed at Bo'ness over the weekend and the loco was started on Sunday evening with no major problems coming to light. A photo is here. The 26 is now expected to join the loco convoy heading south to the Keighley & Worth Valley Diesel Event.
55022 is to run light engine from Bury to Barrow Hill today for load banking of the new power unit. Times are here

20227 has once again ventured onto London Underground metals when it worked a special charter in top and tail formation with LT loco 'Sarah Siddons'. A photo is here
47270 was started up for the first time on Saturday and pending the ironing out of minor faults the loco will take part in the NVR's Rail Mail event on June 23/24. A photo is here
50033 is due to arrive at Tyseley this week for remedial work prior to transferring to its new home in East London and further news from Tyseley is that following last weeks successful start up 47732 has been running around the yard under its own power as part of its ongoing restoration.
20169 has had all eight cylinder heads refitted at Kirkby Stephen East as part of its engine rebuild. Photos here and here

33202 has left the West Somerset Railway and ran light engine to Gloucester yesterday to resume its mainline career.

47270 has arrived at the Nene Valley Railway and 56057 has left for the RVEL workshops at Derby. A photo is here
37009 (37340) is now located at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre where its has been joined by 20154 from Butterley. A photo of 37009 is here
31108 has left Butterley by road for its summer stay at the South Devon Railway.
47367 now has fully operational vacuum brakes with final testing completed the 47 can now work trains solo on the North Nofolk Railway. The loco arrived at the railway as an air only loco.

55022 has had its newly installed replacement engine started for the first time at Bury today. A photo is here
37674 was started at Kirkby Stephen East yesterday and becomes the first 37/5 to run in preservation. A photo is here
20227 has been running test trains on London Transports Metropolitan Line working with a 4-TC and LT's 'Sarah Siddons' in top & tail formation.
A provisional agreement has been reached between the Swanage Railway and the 4-TC Group, owners of an ex-British Rail Mk 1 four-car Trailer Composite 413, for the unit to be based at the Swanage Railway from 2010 with the intention of it being used on services over planned main line link into Wareham.
