A number of preserved railways have entered into agreements with
commercial locomotive hire companies and operate some of their services
with hired power. These locomotives cannot be classed as preserved as they
may well be sold on or leased to a mainline operator with some possibly
meeting the ultimate fate. Listed below are engines that are currently in
use or are intended for use working passenger services on private lines. Locomotives owned by
hire companies that are stored unserviceable at
preservation sites
will not be included. |
